Is there any smell that stirs the soul of American diners quite like smoked meat? No. The answer is no. There’s something primal about cooking food over an open flame that you just don’t get with any other cooking method.
For the modern home cook, though, learning how to cook with fire can be challenging— we’re so used to the cooktops, ovens and George Foreman grills that older methods can seem like a wall to climb.
The good folks at Cork and Knife Provisions are here to help. They will be hosting a “Smoked, Stoked and Butchered” class all about smoking meat on Wednesday, September 7 at The Wine Room in Whitehouse.
The class will cover cooking over an open flame from the very basics— what kinds of wood to use and how to butcher meat— to the creation of an entire menu of food that will wow both you and your diners.
The event will be held from 6-8:30pm in the outdoor patio of The Wine Room at 11266 Obee Rd. in Whitehouse. Tickets are $55 per person. To reserve yourself a spot, visit the Cork and Knife Provisions website.
