“Tell us about your small business and what makes it so special,” reads the entry form for a promotional contest between WTOL and Genoa Bank. The essay contest, accepting entries until 11:59pm on February 12, is part of a push to benefit small businesses, which Genoa Bank states “are the backbone of our economy.” The winner will be announced on March 3. Go to wtol.com’s contest page for full contest rules. You must be at least 21 to participate, so business owners won’t have to worry about competing against lemonade stands. Also, entrants must be Ohio or Michigan residents who reside in the following areas: Lucas, Wood, Fulton, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, Wyandot, Hancock, Henry, Defiance, Williams, Lenawee, Monroe and Hillsdale.
