Purchase native plants for your fall gardens this September.
The Wood County Park District is holding Fall Native Plant Sale on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 am to 1 pm at Cedar Creeks Preserve, 4575 Walbridge Road.
“Purchase quality native plants for your garden from the Friends of the Parks Native Plant Sale,” Wood County Park District wrote on the website.
All plants sold are local genome from seeds collected, cleaned, stratified, sown and grown at the J.C. Reuthinger Memorial Preserve Native Plant Nursery & Greenhouse.
Plants for sale include Forbs for $6 and Woody Shrubs for $15.
“Native plants are locally adapted to regional soil and climate conditions, making them an environmentally–friendly choice for the garden,” Wood County Park District wrote on the website.

Native Plants are crucial to the health of the environment. Native plants diversify and support the food supply, slow soil erosion and improve water quality, maintain balance in an ecosystem and support many pollinators including local butterflies, bees, birds and more.
