Flatrock Barrel House is preparing to open at 116 10th St. downtown, in the back of the historic Davis Building in the former Sophia Lustig space. The Flatrock Distilling is the owner and will bring, barrel house and kitchen fresh food and drink concepts.

Sage and Soda Inc., a new women-owned coffee and dirty soda shop at 480 Dixie Highway in Rossford, serves handcrafted espresso and coffee drinks along with dirty sodas mixed with flavored syrups, creams and purees.

Melt Crepes & Gelato, a popular crepe and gelato shop in west Toledo, is preparing to open a second location at the Crossroads Centre in Rossford, also serving handcrafted crepes and Italian-style gelato..

Lunara Bakery, micro-bakery specializing in artisan European style pastries, is opening a new production kitchen and pickup storefront at 5758 Main St. in downtown Sylvania’s Haymarket Square, the space formerly occupied by Bandit’s.

Equitas Health’s opened a Health Center & Pharmacy at 613 W. Alexis Rd., offering medical, dental and pharmacy services to the community.

Pizza Time, a new pizza shop, has opened at 6725 Central Ave. in Sylvania, taking over the former J-Cups Pizza storefront. The shop offers specialty pizzas, takeout, delivery and curbside pickup.

PLATE 21, a coffee shop and café at 3664 Rugby Dr. in Toledo, is expanding into adjacent space, adding a larger kitchen, more dining space and a partnership with a pre-owned book store.

Watering Hole Creamery, an ice cream shop operated by the Toledo Zoo, is now open inside Doc Martin’s Remedy Shoppe and Apothecary at 12 N. St. Clair St. serving ice cream, shakes, malts, floats, sundaes, wraps and salads. 

Graze Station, 4336 Central Ave, just west of Talmadge, is adding a coffee bar and expanding its hours. The shop will open at 7am Monday-Friday and 8am Saturdays, giving customers a chance to grab coffee and breakfast earlier in the day. 

The Station Sports Bar, a new pub-style restaurant that Hannon’s Block owner is opening at 28 N. Erie St., formally the Alleyway is now open featuring  Detroit and tavern style pizzas, sandwiches, a scratch kitchen, cocktails and craft beers, with a patio and beer garden.

Amends Recovery, is a new mental health and substance abuse treatment facility, at 445 Earlwood Ave. in Oregon, offering mental health treatment, substance use care and access to more than 50 sober living beds at various locations.

Coopers DIY Garage, a new rental garage, has opened at 320 W. Alexis Rd taking over the former DIY carwash at Alexis and Bennett. The garage offers hourly and daily bay rentals with professional 2-post vehicle lifts, QuickJacks and clear-floor bays. Standard tools are included with rentals and staff are on-site to help customers safely raise and lower their vehicles. 

Closed:

Hooters at 4782 Monroe St. has permanently closed.

Paws & People Pantry, located at 3440 Airport Hwy., has permanently closed its food pantry operations.

The Press, a weekly newspaper serving Toledo’s eastern suburban communities, permanently shut down marking the end of a longtime source of local news for communities including Oregon, Northwood and Jerusalem Township.

Perstorp Polyols, 600 Matzinger Rd., is permanently discontinuing operations at the facility.

Snook’s Dream Cars Automobile Museum, 13920 County Home Rd. in Bowling Green, is closing after 24 years for the owner to retire.
