Phoenix Earth Food Co-op Expands Access with Produce Perks Program
The city’s first grocer to join the Produce Perks Midwest program, offering SNAP/EBT shoppers a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $15 per day, on fresh fruits and vegetables. The milestone builds on years of Phoenix Co-op’s community-focused investment, including exterior upgrades, funded through the City of Toledo, a new roof, financed by the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority and a neighboring lot transformed into a community garden via the Lucas County Land Bank. Additional improvements include updated refrigeration and expanded produce displays, strengthening the co-op’s mission to make healthy food more accessible. phoenixearthfoodco-op.com
