No one said love was easy— and more often than not, it is anything but. Just ask local author and retired educator Christopher Werkman, who examines the highs and lows of the mysterious force called “love” in his new book Girlfriending: A Collection of Stories. Werkman, whose work has appeared in literary magazines across the United States, has also published two novels. Sometime during that prolific writing period, he managed to find time to teach in the Washington Local School District for 30 years. An anthology of unforgettable stories, both fiction and nonfiction, Girlfriending will receive its grand unveiling with a book release party at 2pm Sunday, November 12.
