No longer the flyover states, Middle America is home to a fascinating cultural shift that includes art, music, food and unique characters. In Called to Walls (2016), two of these inspiring midwesterners team up to find out what makes their towns unique, artistically. From beyond the view of the high art world, community artists like Dave Lowenstein in Kansas are creating fascinating murals, evocative of their surroundings. Split between an art documentary and a road movie, this flick is part of the Art House Film Series. 7-8:30pm. Friday, June 9.
