Toledo Opera Seeks Resident Artists for 2025-2026 Season

The Toledo Opera is calling for applications for its 2025-2026 Resident Artist program. Open positions include soprano, mezzo-soprano, bass/baritone, and pianist. Applications must be submitted via YAP Tracker at YAPTracker.com by February 1, 2025.

Finalists will be invited to live auditions on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Toledo Opera offices (425 Jefferson Avenue, Suite 601, Toledo, Ohio). A pianist will be provided for the auditions.

Established in 1985, Toledo Opera’s Resident Artist program plays a vital role in educating and entertaining the region’s youth. Resident Artists participate in the Opera on Wheels program, performing for 22,000 students annually across the Toledo area. The program reaches schools, libraries, and community hubs, from Findlay to Ann Arbor and Sandusky to Archbold.

In addition to Opera on Wheels, Resident Artists may perform comprimario roles in mainstage productions and participate in the free Opera Outdoors concert series, which brings live opera to outdoor community spaces.

“Toledo Opera’s Resident Artist program is a cornerstone of our mission,” said James Norman, General Director of Toledo Opera. “It nurtures emerging talent while bringing the transformative power of opera to schools, libraries, and neighborhoods. These artists enrich our community and inspire future generations of opera lovers.”
