Citizen

Local punk rockers Citizen have had a big summer—fresh off the Warped Tour and the release of their new album ‘Youth,’ the Toledo band has been hard at work performing their new material at venues across the country. Despite their hectic schedule, Citizen hasn’t forgotten their roots and are returning to Toledo to throw the release party for ‘Youth’ at Frankie’s Inner City. Citizen’s music sounds like a fusion of Brand New and Nirvana, combining introspective lyrics and catchy melodies with vicious, distorted guitar and high energy rhythms. “Youth was released in June, but due to our hectic touring schedule we weren’t able to host a show upon the release,” said guitarist Nick Hamm. “However, we decided that we could celebrate the release of Youth whenever we want to and that’s exactly what we’re doing. Toledo is our favorite place to play so it is fitting that it will be the first place that gets to hear the majority of the new songs live.” Their breezy punk sound is the perfect soundtrack for the end of the summer—let’s party down.
