Heart disease is the number one killer of women—killing more women than all forms of cancer combined. Many women fail to notice the symptoms of heart disease until its too late, which is why the disease is called the silent killer. On Friday, February 7, the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement is asking all women and those who love them to celebrate National Wear Red Day. The hope is to raise awareness for living a healthy lifestyle and ‘speaking red’ by spreading the message that heart disease is affecting more women every day. Wear red and show the world that you are part of a movement.
