Local poet Michael Hackney’s roots run deep in Toledo soil. After acquiring a taste for the poetic arts at Northview High School, Hackney received his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and a master’s degree from the University of Toledo, under the tutelage of local Poet Laureate Joel Lipman. He’s been published in local anthologies, such as Cornfed Angel, as well as national collections like Broadway Bards.
