Sofia Quintero Celebrating Traditional Latin Folkloric Dance

The Sofia Quintero Center is hosting an exhibition to celebrate and bring the art and history of Latin American dance to the community in an inspiring and creative atmosphere.

Sofia Quintero Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting cultural diversity and community engagement with various cultural and educational programs, events and other activities in the Toledo area. Operating for over 20 years this organization was founded by inspiring and passionate artists who wanted to share their art and make a difference in the community. Sofia Quintero continues to uphold their goal to bring art and culture to those within the community.

“Bailes Exhibition: A Celebration of Traditional Folkloric Dance” showcases a world filled with bright colors, outstanding designs and impeded with the rich cultural history of the craft. Some of the exhibition highlights include Artistry of Traditional Dress a beautiful glimpse of traditional Folkloric attire, Historical Origins of Dance with the rich origins and history of various Latin dances, Summer Camp Experience where participants will get an immersive experience with learning about the Latin American Culture through dance, art and storytelling, and Interactive Cultural Tours provided to take participants through the exhibition and beyond with an in depth exploration of the culture through art, cuisine and agriculture.

The Exhibition is currently opened now through Oct. 11 at the Jose Martinez Memorial Galeria located on 1222 Broadway St. Admission is free with donations are encouraged and accepted to support the Sofia Quintero cultural programs.

This event is made possible with the support of the Toledo Arts Commision, Lucas County, other various sponsors, community partners and volunteers who all share the Passion and dedicated to honoring Latin American Culture with the community.
