Blending surf, doo-wop and retro girl-group harmonies, a new West Coast sound is streaming into the Midwest. La Luz, a Seattle-based girl band, debuted in 2013 with It’s Alive. The band survived a near-fatal car accident soon after, and Weirdo Shrine, their second album, brings a fresh vibe layered with strength. Each member is loyal to either guitar, keyboard, drums, or bass, while all contribute vocals. Catch La Luz on their first national tour.
