The official Shakespeare Festival kicks off in Michigan

Celebrate your love of all things Elizabethan-era when the Shakespeare Fest goeth offeth in Jackson, MI. The official Shakespeare Festival of Michigan, this multi-week festival will present much merrymaking with presentations of The Taming of the Shrew and Julius Caesar. Performances of the shows will be split between Jackson’s Baughman Theatre and the Village Theatre in Canton, MI. Casual fans of Shakespeare will recognize The Taming of the Shrew as the source material for the modern comedy 10 Things I Hate About You, while Julius Caesar gave birth to the immortal line, “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.” Check the website for special Community Night promotions that offer two for one ticket deals. Expect to pay $40/per show or secure a flex pass to all three shows for $105. Showtimes vary. Thursday, July 6-Sunday, August 13.
