A groundbreaking moment in Ohio’s outdoor recreation industry is set to take place as Superior Made RV Resort celebrates its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Apr. 5, at 10:30 am. Located at 4035 South Southern Berkey Road, Swanton, OH 43558, this milestone event marks the establishment of Ohio’s first African American-owned RV resort, emphasizing inclusivity and diversity in camping and outdoor experiences.

In partnership with Metroparks, the ceremony will not only showcase the resort’s current beauty but also unveil ambitious plans for future upgrades. Superior Made RV Resort is committed to elevating the camping experience, with upcoming enhancements such as a luxurious swimming pool, exhibition cabins, and expanded amenities to ensure a high-quality, scenic getaway for all visitors. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the resort, capture photos, and witness the beginning of a transformative journey ahead of the resort’s official grand opening in June 2026—a celebration set to feature exclusive tours, entertainment, and special activities.

A Legacy of Excellence

Superior Made RV Resort is owned and operated by Nathan and Alicia Lawson, a veteran family with deep roots in luxury RV travel. The Lawsons, alongside family members Arlinda Self, Lance Self, Shirley Roland, and Amari Roland, bring decades of experience in business, property management, and hospitality. Previously, the family successfully built and operated Time Away RV Resort in Talladega, AL, near the NASCAR circuit.
