As part of Blue Week 2013, the annual celebration of the Oak Openings Region (see related story on pg 6), Toni Andrews, owner of American Gallery, was asked to put together an art exhibition that related to the natural beauty of the area. She proceeded to gather the work of 15 artists in the mediums of watercolors, photography, acrylic and ceramics (to hold plants) for the forthcoming show Exploring Oak Openings. A few of the artists included are watercolorists John Trumbull, Larry Golba and Jim White, photographer Tom Palmer and ceramicist Ann Tubbs. The opening reception is on Saturday, May 18 from 4-6pm; the show will be on display until Sunday, June 30. American Gallery, 6600 Sylvania Ave. 419-882-8949. —JT
