Women in Business 2024: Erin McPartland of Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity

Executive Director

1310 Conant St.

Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) serving Lucas County. The organization provides the opportunity for affordable homeownership through 0% interest loan and preserves homes by replacing roofs, bringing homes to current code standards, and abating all lead. The work is supported by volunteers, philanthropic giving and ReStore proceeds. ReStore is a retail donation-based business open to the public to shop new and gently used home goods, appliances, and construction material. Executive Director Erin McPartland walks us through her ever-changing schedule and personal decompression methods.

Morning: Get up, hit snooze 20 times, let the dog out. Check my mail, my calendar and my email. Have a cup of coffee and plan out my day.

Work: It changes every day. Either a day full of meetings and planning or a particular event or board meeting.

Evening: Leave work and decompress. Listen to music, cook dinner or order takeout. Spend time with my husband, walk my dogs, watch TikTok.

“Look at a challenge and approach the it as though it’s an opportunity, instead of a challenge. An opportunity to get experience, connect with others and grow your own strengths. Don’t be afraid of it  – it’s an opportunity for growth.”
