As a young writer, playwright Neil Simon worked on the staff of Your Show of Shows, a variety program hosted by the legendary comedian Sid Caesar. Years later, Simon adapted his experiences working on the show— and the numerous colorful personalities he met along the way— into the hilarious play Laughter on the 23rd Floor, a raucous and fascinating look back at producing the influential comedy.
