Blame it on the rain
A family in distress, and a charming but
mysterious stranger—the classic dramatic tropes
that set in motion the plot of The Rainmaker, N.
Richard Nash’s 1954 romantic comedy, presented
by The Village Players through Saturday, March
26. In the Great Depression-era American West,
Lizzie Curry keeps house for her father and two
brothers. Looming drought threatens the family’s
crops, but with the appearance of a slick stranger
who claims to be a “rainmaker,” their lives take
a new turn. $14 adults, $12 students and seniors.
8pm, Thu-Sat, March 17-19, Thu-Sat March 24-
26. 2pm Sun, March 20. 2740 Upton Ave. 419-
