Funny kings and queens

African-American wit is at the heart of the American comedy tradition, with legends like Red Foxx, Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy helping define laughter as we know it. But that rich stand-up tradition is still alive, and you can get a taste of it with the third annual Royal Comedy Tour at the Stranahan Theater. This year's show features up-and-comers like Tony Rock (brother of Chris), Mark Curry (of ABC's Hangin' With Mr. Cooper), Bruce Bruce, Sommore and the man known only as Earthquake. It's bound to be a wild and irreverent night that'll have you in stitches.

Friday, October 26. 7pm. $41-50. 4645 Heatherdowns. 419-381-8851. www.stranahantheater.org. —MD
