Wood County Museum’s Turkey Drop Fundraiser is set for Friday, Nov. 15 at 8:30 am.
The special fundraising event will be held in the Wood County Museum Parking Lot.
There will be 300 foam turkeys dropped from the sky by a drone during the special fundraiser.
The event is inspired by the 1978 sitcom ““WKRP in Cincinnati,” where in one episode “Turkeys Away,” a fictional radio station drops turkeys from the sky.

Foam turkeys can be purchased online for $50 a turkey.
Cash prizes will be given to the top three turkeys that are closest to the target. 1st place will receive $1,000, 2nd place will receive $750 and 3rd place will receive $500. There are various other prizes as well.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Wood County Historical Society to fund future events, educational programs, exhibits and collections management.
