Thank you for publishing my letter in your January 5-19 issue. You could have given me a break on the misplaced apostrophe, but I guess we don’t have that kind of relationship.I thought you’d be interested in see- ing a piece of feedback I received via USPS (see letter below). I assume you and your staff are far too professional to send something like this to one of your readers, so the question becomes.. “Who Framed Johnny Hildo? [or Rep. Kaptur! -ed.] You folks do a very nice job of pro- moting the Toledo area. Good luck and God bless you. Jerry Noss Whitehouse
Editor’s Note: A mystery! Mr. Noss received the following letter, with the return address of Jon Stainbrook at the county G.O.P. We talked to Stainbrook and he had no idea who had sent it. Who presumes to speak for the elusive Mr. Hildo?
Hi Jerry Sweetie!!!
My name is Marcy Kaptur, and in case you missed it, I’m still standing. The “extremists” of Toledo and Lucas County voted for me because they well remember when George Bush spent nearly a trillion dollars on the Iraq War, one in which over 4,000 Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis died, and one which he lied about so he could start. And don’t you think having people tortured is extreme? Most real Chris- tians do.
f you want “brain-dead,” take your boy Iott, an arrogant, rich, Nazi cross- dresser who exaggerated his (alleged) military service. He spent nearly $2 mil- lion on his campaign and I still kicked
the crap out of him! And this in a year of Republican momentum! I’ll gladly do it again in 2012.
Happy New Year and health care for all, even for a moron like you. See you in two years, because I’m not go-ing anywhere!
Sincerely, Johnny
P.S. “It’s” is the contracted form of “it is.” This form is used in sentences us-ing “they” as the subject of the sentence with the verb “to be” used as either the helping verb (e.g. “it’s going,” “it’s rain-ing”) or the principal verb of the sen- tence. “Its” is the possessive pronoun form. This form is used to express that “it” has a specific quality, or that some- thing belongs to “it.”
