Snark rules in Grayson Perry’s Playing to the Gallery: Helping Contemporary Art in Its Struggle to Be Understood, the Toledo Museum of Art Book Club’s selection this month. Perry, an artist known for his ceramic vases and his proclivity towards crossdressing, has penned a humorous aid to getting the layperson to appreciate art in its assorted forms. Join other book and art enthusiasts to discuss this work and then take a tour through the museum to view relevant works. Limited copies of the book are available to borrow from the TMA Library. No previous membership is required to join in the discussion, but registration is requested. 5:30-6:30pm. Tuesday, July 11.
