Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera visits Toledo for the Authors! Authors! series

Learn from one of the poetry world’s best when U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera visits Toledo for the Authors! Authors! series. Herrera, the first Hispanic to be appointed to the esteemed position, is an author of 30 books of poetry, young adult novels and children’s collections. His works have been strongly influenced by his migrant farmer parents. His most recent works are Portraits of Hispanic-American Heroes, a picture book about inspiring Hispanic and Latino-Americans, and a volume of poems entitled Notes On the Assemblage. Herrera’s speech will be followed by a Q&A session and a book signing. 7-8:30pm. Thursday, April 13. $10.
