A Quiet classic comes to Franklin Park
Casting John Wayne as a retired, Irish-born boxer with no trace of an accent might have seemed unusual, but no one can deny that The Quiet Man became a classic of comedy and good feelings. Made by legendary director John Ford in 1952, the film became a hit and won Ford his fourth Academy Award for Best Director.
