One of the most important films of what would become known as the French New Wave, Louis Malle’s 1958 movie Elevator to the Gallows will screen November 22 at the Toledo Museum of Art’s Little Theater. Accompanied by a soundtrack improvised by jazz great Miles Davis, the film is a chilling crime drama about a pair of couples whose fates get murderously intertwined.
