Dhobi Ghat (Mumbai Diaries) tells the story of four people living in Mumbai; a washer-man who wants to be an actor, a banker-turned-photographer, a reclusive painter and a newly-married immigrant. The four eventually become entangled in a web of love as their everyday lives intersect. The Way Public Library will present a free screening of this postmodern Bollywood hit, which highlights the dramatic differences between the slum residents and the wealthy in Mumbai, showing how one’s social class affects every facet of life.
