As a Toledo local, have you ever wanted to act in an independent film production? Now is your opportunity! Award-winning filmmakers Micah Magee and Johan Carlsen will begin production on a new film called Death on the Streets in the Toledo area this summer. They are known for the feature film Petting Zoo, which received critical acclaim, in addition to other short films such as Heimkommen.
Magee and Carlsen will hold an open casting for the two lead roles at the Main Library in Downtown on Saturday and Sunday, May 12th and 13th. The castings will run from noon to 5pm.
The film is seeking male and female lead (ages 35-45), as well as supporting actors (ages 6-80). The filming will occur in late summer in rural Illinois and Indiana.
According to the filmmakers, “Death on the Streets is the story of an unemployed father from rural Indiana who sets off to find work and has a hard time returning home.” No acting experience is required.
