One of the most historically profound relationships in football and a couple trying to survive in Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia are the themes that round out The Toledo Library's Film Focus series. The documentary Black and Blue — which screens on Monday, October 22 — looks back on the friendship of Gerald Ford and Willis Ward, as football teammates at the University of Michigan, that challenged the racism and injustice of the early 20th-century in the United States. The historical foreign drama Protektor — which screens on Monday, October 29 — follows a journalist who broadcasts Nazi propaganda in order to save his Jewish wife.
