American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat made his rise on the New York City art scene during the cultural revolution of the 70s and 80s. Joining painting with text, historical information and figuration, his take on neo-expressionism focused on dichotomies in the social world. As part of the Art House Film Series, enjoy a screening of Basquiat, which details the career of Jean-Michel, from the beginning of his street art days on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, to his untimely death at age 27.
