Occupation: Homemaker/current leader of Super Fitness’ Extreme Weight Loss Challenge
As the previous winner and new leader of this year’s Super Fitness Extreme Weight Loss Challenge, Rebecca Paden is accustomed to wearing workout gear. However, when she’s not motivating the Challengers, she opts for a Paris-inspired style that softly highlights her new body.
How would you describe your style?
Romantic. I like to think of Marie Antoinette in the future. I love her sense of style and what she’d probably wear now.
Did your weight loss play a big part?
Yes, that was a huge part. After I was comfortable with my body, I was finally like, “Oh, I can shop!” and everything was an available option for me.
Definitely try the things you were afraid to when you were overweight. For me it was exposing my legs, so shorts and skirts were a huge ‘no’ for me. Even after I lost the weight I was afraid to go for it. But once I tried it, I decided to embrace my legs!
What style/shopping tips would you give to someone who’s also lost weight?
Go for what makes you feel beautiful! Be daring in your newfound adventure of finding your new style. You’ll be amazed at what might look awesome on you.
What is a recent purchase or find that you really enjoy?
When I was in Paris, I found these really cool lilac, lace shorts at a vintage store. I got a really cute top to match.
Do you make a lot of vintage or thrift store purchases locally?
Not typically. I like to shop online a lot at Modcloth. They have a lot of vintage flair stuff.
Your current outfit: where did you get it?
[The sweater] I got from Zulily and the top is from Kohl’s. [The shoes] are from Irregular Choice.
What are 3 must-haves in your wardrobe?
A pair of skinny jeans that make you feel good, a pea coat or blazer, and a good pair of shoes, like a cute pair of flats.
If you could have one style superpower, what would it be?
To be able to blink my eye and automatically be dressed.
