Are you an aspiring writer? Do you need help developing your story? Sign up for one or all three of Toledo Library Writing Workshops, in partnership with University of Toledo Libraries. Professors from the University of Toledo and Young Adult author Leslie Welch, will lead different courses which are free. Visit toledolibrary.org to register.

Friday, October 12 – Writing Haiku Poetry Workshop
Assistant English Professor Skai Stelzer will help beginner students write an original haiku. 3:30-5pm. Reynolds Corners Branch Library, 4833 Dorr St. 419-259-5320.

Thursday, October 18 – Adapting Literary Works for the Stage
A bit more than just writing, Assistant Theatre Department Professor, Matt Foss, will present a process to bring literary works to life on stage. 3:30-5pm. Reynolds Corners Branch Library, 4833 Dorr St. 419-259-5320.

Tuesday, November 6 – Writing Your First Novel
Leslie Welch leads this class with tips on writing a novel, including topics like creating your log line, building a plot, tips for writing memorable characters and finishing your first draft. 3:30-5:30pm. University of Toledo Carlson Library, Dorothy Price Room, 2801 W. Bancroft St. 419-530-2323.
